Hello world from Sparky Solutions

Hello, and welcome to the Sparky Solutions blog.

I’m Kaur Kallas, the person behind Sparky Solutions — an independent DevOps, Platform Engineering and SRE consultancy based in Tallinn. I help teams build and run cloud-native platforms that hold up in production, from early-stage startups to regulated banking and health-tech enterprises.

My background is deep in Kubernetes and the cloud-native stack, and I work platform-agnostically: public cloud, hybrid, and on-prem — including bare metal (preferably Talos). The right home for a workload is the one that fits your business, not the latest trend.

What I help with

• Cloud and platform migrations — a clear path from legacy infrastructure to scalable, cloud-native (or on-prem) platforms, in whichever direction makes sense.
• Microservices and architecture — adaptable foundations that don’t need re-doing in a year.
• Infrastructure as Code — automated, reproducible environments. I lean on modern tools like Pulumi, Helm and Crossplane, and reach for Terraform when that’s the right fit.
• CI/CD and GitOps — continuous delivery that works with the CI you already run, reconciled and promoted through GitOps instead of glued together with scripts.
• Data and AI platforms — data science and ML pipelines on your own infrastructure, and getting platforms ready to self-host AI.
• DevSecOps and zero trust — security built in from day zero and audit-ready at any scale, not bolted on at the end.

Mostly practical notes from the work itself — how I wire these pieces together, what actually holds up in production, and the trade-offs that don’t make it into the marketing. No fluff, no reinventing the wheel.
